I think there’s a few things every little kid needs as they’re growing up — confidence, companionship, support, knowledge and compassion.

Through Girl Scouts, we’re able to give our daughter all of those things (and more).

While I love all of the NDSS events, being asked to photograph and attend their annual fundraising gala and silent auction event in New York City each winter is really special.

The world is uncertain but one thing that’s not: moments and phases and bits of childhood fly by and you can’t go back, no matter how much you may want to do so. What we can do is (safely) freeze time with images.

Adding a fitness routine into my day-to-day life has been one of the best changes I’ve made in the past year or so.

Marie has such a fun personality — a little bit of sass and a lot of confidence — and I loved capturing not only that but her huge love for her family and their love of her. We explored the area and were able to capture a lovely variety of groups, moments and memories.

Like everyone else, the last few days and weeks have been at times overwhelming, confusing and worrying. But I’ve learned a few things in these early days of social distancing during the Coronavirus outbreak.

There are few “jobs” in this world as difficult — and as rewarding — as being a parent. Life and destiny hand you a small human and an unpredictable 18 to 85 years, God willing, to create a kind person and to lay down the foundation for a future that is full of potential and kindness and joy. That in itself is ridiculously challenging and can be incredibly lonely. Factor in a child with special needs and you can feel absolutely alone. I love the idea of supporting other parents and offering a sense of community for those of us who face battles daily and mostly behind the scenes.

Don’t let your wedding spending go to waste.
