I loved the opportunity to freeze time on this first year of love and family with a session in our New Market neighborhood of Lake Linganore.

There are few “jobs” in this world as difficult — and as rewarding — as being a parent. Life and destiny hand you a small human and an unpredictable 18 to 85 years, God willing, to create a kind person and to lay down the foundation for a future that is full of potential and kindness and joy. That in itself is ridiculously challenging and can be incredibly lonely. Factor in a child with special needs and you can feel absolutely alone. I love the idea of supporting other parents and offering a sense of community for those of us who face battles daily and mostly behind the scenes.

Although I probably love Spring and Fall the best because of the colors and the middle-of-the-road temperatures, there is something pretty magical about winter. I could never live somewhere that didn’t have all four seasons. I love the variety, the traditions, the changing from tank tops to sweatshirts to coats and gloves and back. (Although, […]

There’s going to be a handful of important changes to Wendy Zook Photography in 2019 — things I’m doing to make my client experience even better from start to finish and things that will help me better balance my work, family, hobbies and big, new dreams.

Among those changes is my plan to limit the number of sessions I take during my busiest months especially.

It’s safe to say that The Rising Tide Society has had perhaps the greatest impact on me in 2019 as far as my weekday 9-to-5 life goes. It has been the biggest surprise to my world and has made me grow so much as a person and as a businessperson.

It’s safe to say that Diany and her family — husband Robbie and daughter Lili — are some of the most important people to us. We’ve started a nonprofit organization together — Friendship by LiliZach, a 501(c)3 in Frederick County that supports families with a diagnosis of Down syndrome. We’ve even vacationed together this past […]

I’m alright with admitting that most of what I know about photography has not been taught in classes or classrooms. While I have taken many workshops, webinars, mentorships and much research throughout my seven years of professional photography, that is not where the most of my knowledge has come from. In reality, the things I […]

I believe in a world where we cheer one another on and we don’t see any other entrepreneur as a competitor. (It’s why I love the Rising Tide Society so much!) I love when I see other business owners support one another and I can’t possibly count all of the times I’ve been inspired or […]
