Although I probably love Spring and Fall the best because of the colors and the middle-of-the-road temperatures, there is something pretty magical about winter.
I could never live somewhere that didn’t have all four seasons. I love the variety, the traditions, the changing from tank tops to sweatshirts to coats and gloves and back. (Although, truth time: I hate summer! Too hot!).
Wintertime for me is all about coziness and comfort. I love wearing layers and comfy warm socks. I love being in a corner under a blanket. Even the warmth in the car is a crazy cozy comfort.
Winter hosts some incredible events like Christmas and New Years’ and even my birthday.
From a photography standpoint, there is no clearer and brighter backdrop than the white fluffy stuff. It provides such a magical, diffused, gorgeous perspective. I love snowy photos for their texture and brightness and all the spontaneity.
But fresh-fallen snow? That right there is my absolute favorite thing about winter. Especially those first couple of snowfalls. Before the wind sweeps it away or warm temperatures melt it; before it turns a gross brown from the mud and dirt and before a single footprint destroys it. Fresh-fallen snow has got to be one of the most beautiful things out there, right?
Do you agree with my love for wintertime? What’s your favorite season?
