Emma in Ellicott: A Senior Photo Session in Downtown Ellicott City with Wendy Zook
I first met Emma at her aunt’s wedding that I photographed in the summer of 2020. Emma was elegant and wise beyond her years — helpful and kind and cheerful as she ran errands and helped family while prepping for Elizabeth’s wedding day.

A couple of months later, Emma’s mom reached out to me about doing a senior photo session for Emma. Honestly, I was so excited to have this lovely young lady in front of my camera. We decided on downtown Ellicott City for the session location. Everyone loved the idea of the variety of textures and backdrops and it really did prove to be a great spot.
Emma had two great outfits! We had so much fun just exploring the downtown area and squealing with excitement when we saw a cool alley, a gorgeous porch or a fun pop of color.
It was fun and easy! And we got some really great images that celebrate Emma, her personality, her dreams and what’s important to her. I love the photos where she is laughing. Her mom and I would smile and nod at each other each time we caught one of those moments. Her smile just lights up her whole face and is so infectious. You can’t help but laugh, too!
