I’m a lover of all the seasons, truly. I need seasons in my world. Frankly, I love the extremes and I love the in-betweens. I need all four seasons.
And, I know I’m not supposed to play favorites, so don’t tell the other seasons but… Autumn is my favorite.

I love the peace and calm it brings. It’s a welcome relief to feel cool breezes after so many hot and humid days. I love being able to cuddle with a blanket at the beginning or end of the day but still be able to stay comfortable during the day outside. I think there’s nothing better than a comfy sweatshirt and Autumn allows that with minimal extra layers.

The colors are incredible, too. If you live on the East Coast, you get to experience the most beautiful and incredible foliage. And it can seemingly happen overnight. Suddenly you go back to a spot and see more yellows and oranges. And don’t mind me when I pause at a lone crimson tree dotted on a hillside. I feel sparks of excitement inside with all the colors and boldness and brightness.

And then, I’m grateful to Autumn because it always is my busiest season for photography. I am so lucky to have a passion and a hobby that allows for extra income but even beyond that, I love the ability to meet and see again so many families, kiddos, seniors and in-love couples. We capture the colors and coolness in the images and are able to create photos for holiday cards, too.

I love Autumn. All of these reasons and more. It’s like a warm-up to a holiday season that brings me joy and love. It makes me appreciate all of the other seasons. And it gives me color, calm and creativity. Happy Fall, y’all!
