I first met Kelly when her family was a family of three. It was right after my family had moved to New Market and hers was one of my first family photo sessions I captured in our new location. I loved our session — Kelly is so friendly and easy to talk to and their first-born daughter is a natural ham in front of the camera with a great big smile and big blue eyes. It was definitely one of the moments that cemented my turn to predominantly becoming a family photographer.
Kelly reached out to me, two years later, to let me know that she was expecting her second child and wondering about an in-home newborn photo session to capture the family as a clan of four. (Kelly actually lives one street away from me, so it’s great to see them during the year as neighbors and friends at community events, not just clients!).
Like most of my in-home newborn sessions, we kept it super-comfy and super-easy. All we need are one or two bright and cleared-out corners of the home and some time to relax and capture “a regular day” with your family.
We got lots of photos of a doting big sister, cuddles with Mom and Dad and all the tiny details of a newborn baby — little fingers and toes and sleepy eyes and curious eyes and everything in between. I’m so grateful Kelly trusted me to capture these important first few days — things change so quickly! Enjoy this peek into this beautiful family of four and a happy day at home celebrating new life and fresh starts.
