I definitely believe that Christmas should really be less about gifts and “things” and more about memories, traditions and experiences. But, with that being said, some of my favorite goodies are the tiniest things that we get to fill up the stockings.
In our house, the stockings are the last thing we open on Christmas morning, after all of the “regular” presents. Our stockings are part fun little things and part practical items.
(And in the spirit of being honest, I usually buy some small things for myself so that my stocking isn’t empty, haha!)
Here’s some ideas for everyone in our home this year. (But, shhhh, don’t tell!)
Addie (she’s 7) is all about art, crafts, writing and imagination. She loves games that we can all do together.
So, for her we’re considering things like Mad Libs books, a gratitude journal for kids, a book about cats cradle and a joke book.
Zach, 9, is going to receive some dinosaur toys, a fidget-type toy and some fun card games for us all to play.
The hubby Scott will get some things to help him around the house and while he’s out and about for work — like a beanie with bluetooth (what?!), a magnetic bracelet for nails, screws, etc, and a few things to make him laugh.
Everyone will be getting things like chapstick, gloves, etc.
