Rachel gifts me with the privilege of photographing her family of five each year. It’s always a session filled with laughter and silliness, running, twirling and exploring. Her oldest daughter and my daughter are part of a bestie pirate crew and I love capturing her kiddos during their Lake Linganore Photo Session.

Annual Lake Linganore Photo Session

Last year, we started a tradition of doing their family photos each year in the same location in Lake Linganore. This is for a couple of reasons.
First of all, we use a path along the lake that’s just behind their house. It’s a path they walk on almost daily and the path where their dock and water activities happen.

Another reason — a slightly more sentimental reason — is because Rachel wants to really see the changes and growth in her three kids from one year’s family photo session to the next. With similar backdrops, she’ll be able to do this even more clearly.

A lot of my clients have a favorite spot that we re-use year after year for family photo sessions in the Lake Linganore area of Frederick County. Other clients love a change of scenery each time we meet. Either way is great as long as my client is happy and the location is perfect for them.
