My session with Jess and her family included some of my favorite things as a family photographer — adorable kiddos, a wonderful client with a great personality, flexibility and trust, extended family memories, great outfits and gifting final images to loved ones.

Jess and her husband brought their two kiddos, his mom and her parents for a lakeside photo session in the Lake Linganore area of New Market, Maryland. We captured the last few leaves on trees and a lake (complete with a swan!) as the backdrop to some giggle moments and loving cuddles.

We really focused on keeping the session comfortable and easy and fun — there was walking together, kiddos being lifted up in the air, exploring and drawing in the sand with sticks.

Having the kids with their grandparents is incredibly special — it’s not always easy to coordinate traveling and locations and schedules, but we were able to include everyone together while grandparents were visiting for the holidays. I love seeing how each one of them interacted with their grandkids.

Some of these final images were gifted to the grandparents. I’ve said it a thousand times but memories are the best gifts we can give.
