I am so lucky to have had this family in front of my camera not once but two times. They are a family of four filled with fun, joy and love.

Last year, we captured photos along a forested path area in my Lake Linganore neighborhood. This year, we opted to go along the water for some photos on the concrete esplanade that winds its way around Lake Linganore, hovering over the water for a mile or so.

We lucked out with some beautiful golden light at sunset that gave us a lot of flexibility with where we could go as well as a lot of flattering light.

I especially loved capturing the independence and individuality of these two kiddos who have more inner beauty and confidence than most adults I know. We did individual photos, photos of the two of them, all four of them, mom with her kids and dad with his kids (plus Mom and Dad together, aww!).

These have become some of my favorite photos of my Fall sessions this year — everything lined up and worked out and I’m really pleased with the story we told about these four.
