About one month prior to my family moving to the Rochester area, Nicole and John booked their September 2016 wedding with me. Their trust and confidence in someone not even in the same state as them at the time meant so much to me and was the beginning of a beautiful journey together — one that I hope will last a long, long time.
Nicole and John are two very hard-working attorneys who met at the Erie County Courthouse while working. It was so special to be able to spend a small part of their wedding day both outside and inside the courthouse to sort of bring their story full circle. Some of my favorite shots from that day were at that beautiful stone building.
Aside from a Skype consult with Nicole prior to their booking, their April 2016 engagement session with me was our first time face-to-face and it was such a fun day. We explored some great spots around downtown Buffalo (after some time at their home!) and it felt like Nicole and I had been friends for years. (And John, too!) Being around them is just so easy and natural. Nicole is kind and considerate (and sent me a thank-you gift of Oreos, so we have to be friends for a very long time!).
Throughout our year of communication, I learned a lot about the two of them and their dreams for their wedding day. When the day finally came, it was amazing to see it come to fruition but also wonderful to see it surpass their expectations (and mine!).
My second photographer, Jenny, from Lass&Beau, and I split up and photographed the ladies and guys, respectively, getting ready for the big day and it was a morning of calmness and impenetrable joy and exuberation. You were instantly happy just being in the same room as them.
Their Catholic mass ceremony was poignant and peaceful and getting to know their families during formal photographs was an honor.
Following the ceremony and family formals, the bridal party joined us for photos at the courthouse and downtown area before arriving at the reception site of Spring Garden in Elma, New York. Spring Garden was a beautiful site with lush greenery and an awesome rustic feel. From the moment we arrived, it was just a great night of music (including a guitarist/vocalist at their cocktail hour), dancing, laughter, touching toasts and delicious desserts. Every last detail was immaculately-planned (with help from Gabby of After 5 Events), carefully presented and heartily enjoyed.
Enjoy the peek into Nicole and John’s day!

As mother of the bride, I have to say how pleased Nicole’s father and I were with you and Jenny. You took beautiful pictures and did so with the utmost professionalism, while showing everyone just how very much you both enjoy what you do. We felt like you were part of the family, being able to interact in a fun way, while capturing memories that will last a lifetime. We would be pleased to refer you to any and all of our family and friends! Ty for a beautiful job well done.
Fabulous job from start to finish!
