Lisa and Jamie are the type of couple that just makes you — and everyone around them — smile. Their love and care for each other comes out so clearly in the littlest of ways — the way that Jamie looks at Lisa with a smile on his face when she’s talking; the way that their personalities complement each other so well; the way that each other’s family has embraced their new son and new daughter.
Their April wedding at David’s Country Inn in Hackettstown, New Jersey, was no exception. A day that was supposed to be filled with storms brought last-minute surprises of abundant sunshine and vibrant flowers. The bridal party surrounded Lisa and Jamie with laughter, memories and an easy morning of preparation. Immediate family members looked on with the most immense pride and admiration.
Lisa and Jamie found me in a round-about way. Despite both currently living in Boston, they decided to return to their home state of New Jersey to be closer to their hometowns and loved ones. When they booked David’s Country Inn for their ceremony and reception, the inn recommended me after working with me on previous weddings. David’s is in my hometown and is just five miles away from my Dad’s home. It works out so nicely to see family, be on familiar turf AND meet amazing new couples.
Do you remember Lisa and Jamie’s engagement session from April 2016 when we explored Boston and captured some great old historic alleys and beautiful modern skylines?
The sunshine allowed us more time to explore the gorgeous lot of David’s and take advantage of ivy-covered walls, blooming flowered trees, gorgeous entryways and stairs.
My second photographer, Kristin, used an old telephone booth on the second floor for fun superhero images with the groomsmen. I think we both loved the First Look between Lisa and Jamie on the inn’s large front porch. Jamie was so excited to turn around and see his bride and Lisa was reminiscent of a vintage Hollywood star waiting for him to spin towards her. Jamie built the chuppah for their Jewish ceremony himself and it included a piece of lace owned by Lisa’s grandmother. The tradition and attention to details was obvious throughout every step of the day.
Enjoy the peeks of Lisa and Jamie’s beautiful day and the start of the next chapter of their love story. (And be sure to visit the talented and hard-working vendors below who made their day run so smoothly!)
