I’m alright with admitting that most of what I know about photography has not been taught in classes or classrooms. While I have taken many workshops, webinars, mentorships and much research throughout my seven years of professional photography, that is not where the most of my knowledge has come from. In reality, the things I know and love and put into use every time I’m in front of a family or posing a newly-married couple comes instead from practice, practice, practice, practice.

I want to give others what I wish I had had in my earliest days as a photographer — someone to inspire me and encourage me; someone to see my passion and help me focus on the little things; someone to practice with me and watch me side-by-side over a long period of time.

And so, I want to be someone’s mentor.

Earlier this year, I began photography mentorships and they are one of the things that brings me the greatest joy. I believe we have more than enough need for people to capture the beauty and love in this world and I’m happy to help others do just that.

A photography mentorship with Wendy Zook Photography can be whatever YOU need from it — I individualize the program so that it is as specific to your level of knowledge, your goals for photography and the equipment you have already.

My photography mentorship opportunities can be held in person or online through a series of video chats. We’ll meet for four hour-long sessions and we’ll split the sessions up based on topics (which we’ll come up with thanks to a questionnaire I’ll send you right after you email me!). I’m going to walk you through everything from technical things to editing to posing and then ask you to practice with a “homework” assignment in between our sessions.

I want to share with you the things I’ve learned the hard way — in a way that is easy, fun, comfortable and totally individualized for you.

These mentorships will be perfect for parents with a nice camera that they don’t know how to use, hobbyist landscape or portrait photographers or hopeful one-day professional photographers. I’m even offering classes for tweens and teens in 2020!
