Like most of my in-home newborn sessions, we kept it super-comfy and super-easy. All we need are one or two bright and cleared-out corners of the home and some time to relax and capture “a regular day” with your family.

Chris and Elizabeth wanted to incorporate Ellicott City as it’s a place where their love story really began and some of their most special dates occurred. I loved exploring this super-quaint, historic old town and capturing Chris and Elizabeth on just a “regular” day.

If you’ve been following me for a bit, you may remember that at the end of 2018 and beginning of 2019, I had some unusual symptoms and “lady parts issues” that kept me from living a normal day-to-day life — I couldn’t work out, I had a lot of pain that kept me from going for my hikes and on adventures with my kiddos and I felt like I was missing out. I waited WAY too long on those symptoms and spent unnecessary months in agony.

After years of photographing families, I can say with 100 percent certainty that most clients find picking outfits for everyone in their family to be the most stressful and difficult part of a photography experience.

Having the kids with their grandparents is incredibly special — it’s not always easy to coordinate traveling and locations and schedules, but we were able to include everyone together while grandparents were visiting for the holidays. I love seeing how each one of them interacted with their grandkids.

I love the way you can tell a family’s story just by capturing how they interact and how they love each other. Sometimes, it’s laughter; sometimes, it’s hugs and affection; sometimes, it’s silliness. And, sometimes, like with this family, it’s a little bit of everything.

I’ve created a client workflow that, from start to finish, allows me to give an easy, fulfilling process to my clients, and — perhaps best of all for my clients — allows me to turn around family photo session images in as little as 36 hours.

Every two years, our local Down Syndrome Support Group in Frederick County, F.R.I.E.N.D.S, creates a series of posters that can — we hope — open eyes, change opinions and create equality.
