Sarah and Mike are new(ish) to the neighborhood and bring with them a total of three kiddos. The five of them feel more like extended family most days — Sarah and Mike are so fun to be around and their kiddos are frequent visitors to our backyard.

Sarah and I first started talking about doing photos together when they first moved to the area and she said they didn’t really have any good photos of the five of them and that it had been years since their last official session.

They’re still learning their way around our Lake Linganore neighborhoods but knew they wanted at least a portion of their session on what’s called the esplanade around the big lake and near one of our beaches. It’s a concrete walkway above the water that is incredibly picturesque — perfect for photos! We also wanted to capture a portion of their session in the tie-dye shirts they make as a tradition together each year.

I love their lowkey, easy way of just being and enjoying — even for an early-morning session, hehe!
