It’s funny how people come into your life and how some of them are meant to keep circling around you and staying near you for a long, long time.

I first met photographer Andrea of ALH wordandimage at an event with Jenna Shriver for her new dream, Oh freebird fly. Andrea and I were in a group of phenomenal ladies supporting Jenna in a town about 40 minutes away from our home here in Maryland. I loved Andrea’s smile, kindness and the joy that she brought to a room and we have kept in touch, thanks to social media, since that first meeting.

When I offered headshot sessions earlier this year, Andrea was one of the first people to inquire about a session to celebrate her and her business. (I also photographed her with her husband and son earlier this year and it was SO special! I loved this time watching her with her ‘Mom’ hat on).

For her headshots, Andrea and I met in downtown Frederick. We both love the colors, character and details scattered throughout the charming small city. We had a gorgeous day and just walked around like old friends grabbing beautiful moments with Andrea around things that made her happy — bold sunflowers, worn brick walls, pops of color and paths of ivy.

For her headshots, Andrea wore this amazing yellow polka-dot dress that popped against all of our backdrops and definitely made me want to go out and buy a similar dress myself!
